Care Instructions

For Anthurium and Tropical Flowers
Anthuriums

Besides being a beautiful and exotic flower, the anthurium’s most noted quality is its long vase life. You can ensure a lasting enjoyment by following these simple instructions:

  • Trim 1/2 inch from the bottom of each stem and immerse the entire flower in cool fresh water for 15 minutes before arranging the flowers.

  • Change the water and trim the stems every few days to help increase vase life.

  • Misting the heads of the flowers daily helps as well.

  • Keep flowers at room temperature away from air conditioners, heaters and direct sunlight

Tropical Flowers
  • Cut stems about 1” from bottom. Place in vase of room temperature water

  • Mist with room temperature water dailys (Tropicals love high humidity.)

  • Every 2-3 days replace water and re-cut stems

  • Keep away from direct heat and cold. Do not refrigerate below 55°F (13°C)

Orchids
  • Change the water: Change the water daily to keep the orchids hydrated.

  • Do Not Store in Cold Storage: These orchids prefer day temperatures between 70–85°F and night temperatures between 60–70°F. They can lose their leaves if exposed to temperatures below 60°F

  • Trim the stems: Trim the stems every 2–4 days to promote proper hydration.

  • Remove dead leaves and blooms: Remove any dead leaves or blooms to help the orchids last longer.

  • Keep out of direct sunlight: Place the orchids in a location that's not too warm and doesn't receive direct sunlight.

  • Keep in a humid area: Place the orchids in a humid area of the home.

  • Avoid overwatering: Overwatering can lead to root rot, so allow the growing medium to dry out slightly between waterings.
